Art is an organised expressions of ideas, feelings and experiences in images, music, language, gesture and movement. They provide for sensory, emotional, intellectual and creative enrichment and contribute to the child's holistic development. Art is ,the release of creative energy among the students so that they may be able to appreciate cultural heritage and cultivate rich interests, which they can pursue in their leisure and later in life".

Objectives of Teaching and Learning Arts:

At the Primary Level, children develop an understanding of the school and its environment as their first introduction to a formal setup. Art is known to be the best tool to cater to the needs at this stage and adds to the learning and development of children.

There will be four papers, Candidates will be required to offer any two papers:

Paper 1 (3 hrs) Drawing and/or Painting from Still Life - 100 Marks.
Paper 2 (3 hrs) Drawing and/or Painting from Nature - 100 Marks.
Paper 3 (3 hrs) Original Imaginative Composition in Colour - 100 Marks.
Paper 4 (3 hrs) Applied Art - 100 Marks.

In grade IX and X, students follow a particular curriculum as envisaged by the CISCE.

In the primary level, the children learn the following skills:

1. Drawing : Pencil, Chalk, Wax Crayons, Brushes and Pens.
2. Painting : Powders, Tempera, Posters, Inks, Natural Dyes.
3. Print Making : Potato and Other Vegetables, Card making.
4. Collage : Paper, Card, Fabric, Threads, Feathers and Wood.

In the upper primary , addition to the above skills, the students learn :
Three Dimensional - Clay, Plasticine, Dough, Junk, Modelling, Wood, Styrofoam, Sculpture etc.
